PRESENTE SIMPLE Y PASADO SIMPLE PASIVO: REPASO.

In this topic, we will review the structures of the Simple Present and Simple Past passive forms. The Passive Voice is used when the subject of the sentence receives the action, instead of performing it. We will look at both affirmative and negative forms in these tenses.

Present Simple. Affirmative.

The Present Simple passive is used to talk about general facts, routines, or actions that occur regularly in the present. The focus is on the action or the object that receives the action.

Estructura:

Subject + am/is/are + past participle

Ejemplos:

1. The breeze is appreciated by everyone.
     La brisa es apreciada por todos.

2. The sunsets are watched every evening.
     Los atardeceres son observado cada tarde.

3. I am on the bench while I see many people in the park.
     Estoy en el banco mientras veo mucha gente en el parque.

Present Simple. Negative.

In the negative form of the Present Simple passive, we deny the action that is received in the present. We use "not" after the verb to be (am/are/is).

Estructura:

Subject + am/is/are + not + past participle

Ejemplos:

1. The breeze isn't appreciated by everyone.
     La brisa no es apreciada por todos.

2. The chats aren't responded to immediately.
     Los chats no son respondidos de inmediato.

3. I'm not at home because of winter.
     Estoy refugiado en mi casa por causa del invierno.

Past Simple. Affirmative.

The Past Simple passive is used to talk about completed actions in the past, when the subject received the action.

Estructura:

Subject + was/were + past participle

Ejemplos:

1. The spring was celebrated by everyone.
     La primavera fue celebrada por todos.

2. The gathering was held at my house last year.
     La reunión fue realizada en mi casa el año pasado.

3. The shades were appreciated on a hot day.
     Las sombras fueron apreciadas en un día caluroso.

Past Simple. Negative.

The negative form of the Past Simple passive is used to deny that the action was performed in the past. "Not" comes after "was/were."

Estructura:

Subject + was/were + not + past participle

Ejemplos:

1. The summer was not enjoyed last year.
     El verano no fue disfrutado el año pasado.

2. The bench wasn't used during the winter.
     El banco no fue utilizado durante el invierno.

3. The sunsets weren't seen because of the clouds.
     Los atardeceres no fueron vistos debido a las nubes.

Ejercicio:

Ayude al teacher a traducir al inglés las siguientes oraciones:

1. La brisa es apreciada por todos.

2. El atardecer no es observado por muchas personas.

3. La reunión fue realizada en un lugar hermoso.
