In English, we use might have, could have, and would have to talk about hypothetical situations in the past. These structures help us express actions that could have happened, were possible, or would have happened if certain conditions had been met.
1. Might have
Used to express a past possibility that didn’t happen
Structure:

Subject + might + have + past participle + complement 1 + if + past perfect |
Examples:
1. She might have qualified for the loan if she had a better credit score.
 Ella podría haber calificado para el préstamo si hubiera tenido un mejor puntaje de crédito.
2. He might have been approved for the mortgage if he had made a larger down payment.
 Él podría haber sido aprobado para la hipoteca si hubiera hecho un pago inicial más grande.
3. They might have been turned down for the loan if their credit history was poor.
 Ellos podrían haber sido rechazados para el préstamo si su historial de crédito hubiera sido malo.
2. Could have
Used to express past ability or opportunity that wasn’t used
Structure:

Examples:
1. She could have paid off the loan sooner if she had earned more money.
 Ella podría haber pagado el préstamo más rápido si hubiera ganado más dinero.
2. You could have shopped around for a better interest rate if you had more time.
 Podrías haber comparado precios para encontrar una mejor tasa de interés si hubieras tenido más tiempo.
3. They could have taken out a larger loan if they had qualified for it.
 Ellos podrían haber solicitado un préstamo más grande si hubieran calificado para ello.
3. Would have
Used to express what would have happened under different conditions in the past
Structure:

Examples:
1. I would have paid off the credit card if I had received my bonus.
Habría pagado la tarjeta de crédito si hubiera recibido mi bono.
2. She would have been approved for the car loan if she had a higher credit score.
Ella habría sido aprobada para el préstamo del auto si hubiera tenido un puntaje de crédito más alto
3. We would have qualified for the house if we had made a larger down payment.
Habríamos calificado para la casa si hubiéramos hecho un pago inicial más grande.
